Upcoming Android Phones 2013: Motorola Moto X Goes Under The Knife..Literally, Keys, Hammer, Do Their Part

A few days ago, some people from Jail Break Nation tested the iPhone 5S and came up with pretty disappointing results.

Now, it is time for Motorola's upcoming Moto X to go under the knife in the same fashion. Some of the guys from Phonebuff made the video which showed the Android phone being scratched, knived, and ultimately hammered.

The video of the brutal test can be found here.

If you have watched the video, you will see that the knife and keys left major scratches on the Moto X's plastic black cover and sides. Impressively, the Gorilla Glass screen was able to withstand the test and did not get any scratches at all.

However, when the hammer was used, the glass was helpful to its force. The screen acquired some major damages which affects display and touch responsiveness. On the other hand, the back part was still intact with no open or broken portions.

If this test is accurate, and I bet it is, then consumers planning to buy the Moto X would be happy to know that their car keys or open swiss knives would not affect the phone's screen, though a durable and thick phone casing would be recommended to protect the back part.

On the other hand, drops and falls may cause the phone severe damage if it lands on its screen. But if it doesn't, chances are it still functional.

Motorola will announce its phablet in the US next month.
