'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' Cast: James Spader Confirmed To Play The Menacing Robot Who Will Decimate Earth's Mightiest Heroe

The sequel to the Avengers movie, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will feature James Spader as the devilish robot who'll challenge Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Ultron is one of the Avengers most dangerous villains.

James Spader is an Emmy Award Winning actor who last appeared on the big screen in "Lincoln" directed by no less than Steven Spielberg. He has played various roles on different TV shows namely "The Practice," "Boston Legal" and "The Blacklist."

In the Marvel Universe, Ultron is one of the most dangerous villains. He was originally a robot created by Henry Pym, also known as 'Ant-Man,' and the Avengers resident genius. However, Joss Whedon decided not to push through with introducing Henry Pym, thus the origin of Ultron will be altered.

Joss Whedon elaborates via Marvel.com: "We're doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. In the origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He's not. We're basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside."

Indeed, complete reboots have now become a trend since "X-men: First Class" virtually reinvented the X-Men Universe. Solid Comic fanboys have vowed to boycott the film, and the backlash prior to be film's release was overwhelming. Nevertheless, the X-men reboot gained box office and critical success, overcoming all the threats. You really can't put a good film down.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is due for a May 1, 2015 release.
