‘Man Of Steel 2’ Cast Rumors: ‘Breaking Bad’s’Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor - NOT TRUE! ‘Smallville’s’ Michael Rosenbaum Can Still Grab The Role!

One of the most hyped 'Man Of Steel 2' cast rumors which circulated was Bryan Cranston's "official" selection for the legendary role of the evil and terrifying Lex Luthor.

However, despite the Internet hysteria, it has to be cleared that for the record, it's not confirmed whether Cranston has indeed bagged the coveted role.

When asked by a reporter about his interest for the villain role, the 'Breaking Bad' star simply said, "Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor." Such response was then equated to a "confirmation".

Die-hard fans of Superman even created an unofficial trailer which includes various clips from previous shows of Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, and Cranston himself.

If Cranston's fascination for the role is true, then he has to brace himself for a contender who already volunteered himself to be Superman's archenemy - Michael Rosenbaum.

On his Twitter page, the actor and director wrote,

If experience will serve as the basis for selection, then Rosenbaum fits the bill. Apart from playing as Lex Luthor in the seven seasons of 'Smallville', he has similarly worked for Justice League's animated series wherein he voiced Flash.

The only problem is that the producers are looking for a younger Lex Luthor who can intimidate just by his physical aura alone.

The complete and official cast of 'Man of Steel 2' will possibly be released next month. The selected Lex Luthor will sign a contract which will have him appear in at least six Superman films.

Other actors who are reportedly being considered for the role include Jon Hamm, Matthew Goode, Armie Hammer, Guy Pearce, and Mark Strong.
