Nexus 7 4G LTE Release Date For US In ‘Coming Weeks;’ Mid-September Release For Japan

The Google Nexus 7 LTE release date in the US has still not been confirmed, but the new Nexus 7 tablet is slated to release in  Japan in a few weeks, in mid September. Does this mean we are one step closer to a US release date for the 4G LTE model?

Google recently announced that the Nexus 7 tablet will come in a 4G LTE model with 32GB of storage for only $349, AndroidCommunity.com reports. Currently a WiFi only model is available, but now the LTE version is coming to Japan around mid-September, according to Blog of Mobile, AndroidCommunity.com reports.

GottaBeMobile.com reports that rumors of this release in Japan hints that the Nexus 7 LTE will soon hit the United States for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless.

The new Nexus 7 launch took place in San Francisco at a media event in San Francisco, the website reports. This version improved upon the previous version by trimming the weight of the design, adding a high resolution display, including a 5MP rear camera for the first time, and adding 4G LTE data speeds.

4G LTE is a coveted featured added to the Nexus 7, meaning that the tablet will be able to pull down cellular data that can, at times, be as fast as the speeds found on a home Wi-Fi network, GottaBeMobile.com reports. In other words, it transforms the Nexus 7 into a powerful tool while on the go, and will be compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Google has only revealed that the Nexus 7 4G LTE will be available to prospective buyers in the U.S. in "coming weeks," according to the website.
