Sean Kingston Gang-rape Case Settled Out Of Court: Rapper Paid Hefty Amount To Appease ‘Traumatized’ Victim

A lawsuit was filed against 23-year-old rapper Sean Kingston who allegedly spearheaded the gang raping of Carissa Capeloto, 22.

According to Capeloto, she was invited to Kingston's hotel room at Crowne Plaza Seattle for a casual meet-and-greet after Justin Bieber's concert where the rapper also had a short performance.

Upon her arrival, she saw a naked Kingston on bed who then forced her to have sex with him, his bodyguard, and another companion. Although the 'Beautiful Girls' singer denied the testimony and declared that the sex was totally consensual, the girl insisted that she was "intoxicated and incapable of consent" that time.

The gang rape ended when a friend of the girl arrived and called law enforcement. She was then taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed for acquiring rape-caused injuries. Despite such diagnosis, the police did not pursue criminal charges sensing that Capoleto's claims were inconsistent and not credible.

The victim still filed a $5 million lawsuit against Kingston's team. Capoleto asserts that the abuse left her with recurring anxiety attacks, mood swings, and also insomnia.

The court trial has been scheduled to start this November but Kingston reportedly settled the case out of court. No exact amount was disclosed but according to insiders, more than half of the lawsuit's original cost was given to Capoleto to withdraw the case.

Sources from the Jamaican-American performer's team said that the latter settled the case not out of guilt but out of his intention to remain focused on his upcoming tour and album.
