Charlie Hunnam Cast As Christian Grey In 50 Shades Of Grey Movie [VIDEO]: "I've Been Swaggering Since I Was 14 Years Old" As He Is Cast Alongside Dakota Johnson; "Incredible Chemistry" Between Actors

Charlie Hunnam cast as Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Gray with Dakota Johnson: Will he make a good Christian Grey?  Charlie Hunnam has starred in a lot of seriously good work, including Sons of Anarchy and Pacific Rim.  According to producer Michael DeLuca, Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson have "incredible chemistry".

Charlie Hunnam will probably make an excellent Christian Grey, given his smoldering confidence.  Charlie Hunnam told USA Today while promoting Pacific Rim: "I've been swaggering since I was 14 years old!"

Charlie Hunnam grew up in Newcastle, England, a working-class town. He moved to the Lake District, a place where fighting was common. He describes his parents as "tough-guy" father and a "bohemian" mother, who split up when he was 2 years old.

Charlie Hunnam's first big role was as a gay teen on the UK version of Queer as Folk.  He has since moved on to star in series such as Sons of Anarchy.  Roles like this display the impressive range that should help him play Christian Grey.

Nevertheless, there has been some controversy over the casting of Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson in the 50 Shades of Grey film's lead roles.  EL James took to Twitter to talk about the controversy: "To all the supporters, lovers and haters - thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project. You all rock. All of you. ♡"

Producer Dana Brunetti also weighed in: "There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc.

"So if your favorite wasn't cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective."
