Benedict Cumberbatch On The Run In Sherlock Season 3 Finale Set Photos: Reps Deny 'Star Wars' Villain Casting Rumor

It looks like Benedict Cumberbatch is finally finishing up "Sherlock" season 3 filming, with the latest photos hardly showing Mr. Holmes in his finest hour.

In the latest "Sherlock" season 3 set photos provided by Radio Times, Benedict Cumberbatch looks disheveled and perhaps on the run in the finale episode, "His Last Vow."

"His Last Vow" will pit Sherlock Holmes against new villain Charles Augustus Magnussen, portrayed by Lars Mikkelsen.

Will Mr. Magnussen be too much for Benedict Cumberbatch to handle?

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch may be piling on to his already massive movies list, with the latest rumor being that the actor will play a villain in the upcoming "Star Wars" film.

According to rumors all over the web, Benedict Cumberbatch and J.J. Abrams are in talks for him to appear in "Star Wars: Episode VII," but currently the actor's representative are flatly denying the casting rumor.

"There is no truth to the rumor Benedict has been cast in 'Star Wars,'" says a spokesperson for Cumberbatch according to The Huffington Post.

"I think the rumors are circling because J.J. and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on 'Star Trek.'"

Of course, whether this is false or simply delaying the announcement remains to be seen.

So far this year, Benedict Cumberbatch's movies include upcoming "The Fifth Estate" in September, "12 Years a Slave" in October, and "August: Osage County" in December.

Recently, Benedict Cumberbatch has been confirmed to lend his voice to "The Penguins of Madagascar," a spin-off of the lucrative "Madagascar" franchise.

In addition, Benedict Cumberbatch will share a movie title with fellow "Sherlock" star Martin Freeman as the voice of the dragon Smaug in "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug."

Hopefully with filming for "Sherlock" season 3 close to wrapping up, an air date will be confirmed shortly after.
