Simon Cowell And Lauren Silverman Are Having A Baby Boy! ‘X Factor’ Judge Thinks He Will Be A Good Father But Insists That A Nanny Will Do The Dirty Work

At age 53, music mogul Simon Cowell is an example of an excited first-time father. He recently accompanied 36-year-old Lauren Silverman to have an ultrasound which immediately revealed that they will be welcoming a little Simon.

"I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal. You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now," said the daddy-to-be in his interview with UK's The Times.

The former 'American Idol' critic clearly cannot wait to start a new family with his New York socialite girlfriend who just came out of a divorce settlement. When asked about fatherhood, he told BBC Breakfast: "I am good with kids because I like kids. I really do like them and I listen to them."

"I think I will be a good dad, so I'm excited," he also proudly declared.

However, he isn't too fascinated with the icky aspects of parenthood specifically the changing of dirty nappies. The future hands-off dad admits that he will absolutely delegate such task to someone else.

He has similarly expressed that his sleeping hours shouldn't be compromised with the arrival of their bundle of joy. Harry Hill, one of his 'X Factor' colleagues, warned him that having a baby would mean sleepless nights to which Cowell immediately replied: "Can't I just get a nanny?"

Silverman is due to give birth to Simon Junior in February. The couple have just returned to the US from a romantic getaway in France and London.
