Lady Gaga 'Applause' VMAs Performance Of Miley Cyrus; Mother Monster Thinks People Should 'Lighten Up'
After almost everyone weighed in on Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance, Lady Gaga is giving it an applause.
Mother Monster told "The Sun" that people should lay off Cyrus because she was just doing what she was suppose to do as a performer.
"I don't like to pass judgment on Miley Cyrus. Generally, people need to lighten up about pop music -- it's about entertainment," said Gaga who also did an explicit performance of her new single "Applause" at the VMAs.
The "ARTPOP" artist already feels like females get bashed enough in the industry. She doesn't what to add to it.
"It is here to make you smile and make you happy," said Gaga. "Especially in America, there is an excessive dragging of female artists, and I don't want to contribute to that."
The only criticism Gaga had toward Cyrus' twerking performance was that it was "polarized."
Gaga, who did a controversial bloody show of "Paparazzi" at the 2009 VMAs, joins Cyrus supporters like Justin Timberlake and Selena Gomez.
Still Cyrus has those like Kelly Clarkson and Kelly Osbourne who weren't so fond of her "Blurred Lines" duet with Robin Thicke.
Just saw a couple performances from the VMA's last night. 2 words.... #pitchystrippers
