Following Miley Cyrus explicit VMAs performance, Demi Lovato is fighting back against twerking via Twitter.
On Tuesday the "Heart Attack" singer tweeted, "Can the world stop talking about twerking please?"
Lovato stressed that she wasn't attempting to start a beef with her buddy Cyrus. However, she is just simply over the twerking trend.
"Btw - no shade thrown...Don't even try to start that crap," Lovato tweeted. "Haha...the term twerking just needs to disappear like the word swag does too."
The X Factor judge concluded, "I just don’t know what happened to the word ‘dancing’…. Can I getta amen?!!”

Harry Syles of One Direction also revealed how he really felt about the butt shaking dance move that has become a phenomenon.
"I think it's quite inappropriate," Styles told Moviefone, according to Oh No They Didn't. "Especially for the age groups that it's aimed at."
Despite naming his bandmate Naill Horan as the best twerker of the group, Styles added that the age of his fans become an issue when they mimic this sexualized dance.
"When they're twerking, yes," said Styles. "I think it's, you know, promoting promiscuity."
