Blackberry Phones 2013: Manufacturer May Be Wanting To Follow Nokia’s Steps

Just a few days after the industry-shattering acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft, it looks like Blackberry is headed in the same direction.

According to sources by WSJ as cited by GSM Arena, the management of the Canadian company is also pushing for a sale before the end of November.

While the sources did not indicate any specific company or brand which is willing to buy the former leading enterprise phone maker, a list has already been prepared by a special committee.

Recent reports said Blackberry plans on becoming a niche company, but in order to do so, it has to sell all its 'excess baggage' in order to perform better in the competition.

One step forward in that direction is the release of its famed Blackberry Messenger (BBM) for both Android and iOS.

In spite the hasty steps the company is taking, setting up a sale before the end of the year is still far from a possibility, GSM Arena said.
