Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Smartwatch Release Date: Coming To US First Week Of October

Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Smartwatch in the UK today, and the US release date will come in the first week of October.

The release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Smartwatch in the US varies based on the carrier, but all the release dates fall in the first week of October.

AT&T and T-Mobile are already accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 3, PC Mag reports. AT&T will begin shipping the device "around Oct. 1," while T-Mobile will start carrying it in stores on Oct. 2.

AT&T is selling the Note 3 for $299.99 while the self-proclaimed "uncarrier" T-Mobile is offering it for $199.99 down plus 24 monthly payments of $21 on its Simple Choice Plan, PC Mag reports.

Sprint announced it will begin selling Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet and wearable Galaxy Gear smartwatch on Oct. 4, the website notes.

Sprint customers will be able to purchase the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean-powered phablet in either classic white or jet black for $349.99 with a two-year service agreement.

The Galaxy Gear, meanwhile, will be available in black, beige, and orange for $299.99.

Verizon is currently taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch bundle for $600 with a two-year contract.

The devices are also expected on the regional carrier US Cellular in October.

Samsung unveiled both the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Smartwatch earlier this month at the IFA trade show in Berlin. The Note 3 looks much like its predecessor, but has a 5.7-inch, 1,920-by-1,080 display, up from 5.5 inches, as well as a spec upgrade, PC Mag reports.

The Gear is a companion device to Galaxy smartphones and tablets, letting you make phone calls, take photos, listen to music, look and photos, and more from your wrist. For now, the Gear will only work with the Galaxy Note 3o Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition tablet, but that will change as more gadgets are upgraded to Android 4.3 and above.

Today, Samsung announced plans to launch handsets with curved displays. Sales of the plastic devices will be released in South Korea in October, The Telegraph reports.
