Anna Gunn Weight Loss Explained, Sorta: "Facing An Illness" During Breaking Bad- But Is She Lying?

Many were shocked by Anna Gunn's weight loss when she appeared at at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night (Sept. 22). Gunn lost her her "Breaking Bad" mom jeans for a Romona Keveza gown would have been "cure-hugging", but that revealed a complete lack of curves to, well, hug.

Gunn looked alarmingly skinny, with jutting collar bones and stick-thin arms.

Viewers were concerned about Gunn's weight loss.

One viewer Tweeted: 'Am I the only person in the twitter verse that thought Anna Gunn looked like she was starving?'

Another wrote: 'Woah, Anna Gunn is so skinny... What happened?'

The  Breaking Bad star won for best supporting actress in a drama series...however, the focus was on her appearance on the red carpet, not her acting skills.

But Gunn was quick to address her apparent weight loss, saying that she was actually her normal weight and fat during the show because of an illness. Um, ok.

Gunn said that during "Breaking Bad", she was facing an illness that made her look bloated and puffy.

"I was actually ill while I was filming the show and it affected my weight," Gunn,said.

As a result, cortisone made her puffy. "They gave me cortisone and I puffed up and gained weight. Now I'm better, thank God," Gunn explained.

Being a mom helps, too, Gunn, 45, said.

"I run around after two kids!" she said of her daughters Eila Rose, 7, and Emma, 12. "And I do Pilates."

Some suspected Gunn of lying...while other actresses were ridiculously honest.

Gunn wasn't the only one whose weight was remarked at during the Emmys.

Modern Family actress Julie Bowen flat-out admitted she had 'starved' herself to get into tight dress. And it was clear she wasn't kidding from her appearance.

One Twitter user thought that Bowen's starving comment was 'refreshingly honest but sad nevertheless,' while another Tweeted, 'Julie Bowen talking about starving to fit into her dress. Nice message about body image.'
