Garden City Shooting Update: Police On Search For 64-Year-Old Asian Man After Allegedly Killing One, Leaving Another In Critical Condition

Garden City shooting on Long Island leaves at least one dead while another hospitalized and taken into surgery. Now police are on the search for one man who left the scene near the Roosevelt Field Mall.

The Garden City shooting leads the police to look for the alleged killer and shooter named Sang Ho Kim, 64, and described as a 6'2" Asian male, wearing a red shirt, grey or brown suit jacket and driving a white Honda Pilot. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. The vehicle has a New York license plate FMA 3648, police said.

"This does not seem to be an active shooter, the place of business seems to have been targeted," Nassau County Police Chief said in a statement.

This means the alleged Garden City shooter maybe worked there at some point and possibly could have had a fallen out, maybe even been fired recently.

Nearby schools and the mall itself were closed immediately following the shooting.

A store employee told Eyewitness News at Noon that mall security told the stores to lock the doors shortly after the shooting.

"Me and my boss locked our doors and ran to the stock room," Kia said. "As far as we know, no one is allowed to leave the mall. No one is allowed to enter the mall."
