Android 4.4 Kit Kat Release Date: 5 Things To Expect From The New Android Update, Rumored To Be Released Oct. 14

For the past four years, the world (well, most of it) fell in love with Google's Android ecosystem with the homescreens, apps, widgets and other features. And as Android 4.4 KitKat release date draws near, we will look at five things we may want to check out with this new version.

1. Obviously a better UI

Since the first ever Android phone was released, the platform has indeed improved greatly in the aesthetics division. Application animations are more fluid, and the homescreen just looks stunning. Jelly Bean has definitely upped the game with the 'holo' theme, but KitKat would naturally provide better UI.

2. Will support more devices

While Android is the world's biggest OS as far as userbase is concerned, it also boasts the most fragmented with hundreds of international and local brands using it in their respective devices. According to rumors, Android 4.4 KitKat will be able to support more devices because it will require minimal system requirements.

3. Better battery management

Battery life is the waterloo not only of Android phones, but smartphones in general. Recent reports said Google will try its best to create a more battery-efficient version so smartphone users can really maximize their devices to their fullest potential.

4. Improved security

Another aspect Google needs to work on is its security features as far as running applications are concerned. We would expect the company to get rid of malicious applications and other bugs which might provide security problems for Android phone users.

5. Applications, features and other additions which are inspired by Nestlé KitKat

The tie-up between Google and Nestlé means both brands would definitely benefit something from the new Android version. If there would be chocolate-inspired themes, applications and settings, I'm sure we would all welcome that.

Android 4.4 KitKat is rumored to be released on October 14.
