GTA 5 PC Release Date News: Online Multiplayer Mode Gameplay Available Now? Rockstar Announced That GTA Online Goes Live Today

The Grand Theft Auto V online multiplayer mode gameplay will release today, October 1, 2013, ChristianToday.com reports.

The Grand Theft Auto Online multiplayer component will be available to download online for free. Rockstar has announced that GTA Online will go live at about 7 a.m. ET today, ChristianToday.com also reports.

"Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with your copy of Grand Theft Auto V. On October 1st there will be a small downloadable Title Update released on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE," Rockstar Games posted on their blog site.

"Upon installation of that Title Update, direct access to begin GTA Online will be unlocked in your GTAV game menu. You will be able to jump right into GTA Online via the 4th (bottom) slot in your GTAV character wheel. We've received many questions asking for a specific confirmation of what exact time GTA Online will be available but of course this is contingent on both Title Updates becoming available on each console's network."

Change.org has confirmed that the "Rockstar: Release GTA 5 on PC" petition is the largest gaming-related petition the site has ever hosted, GameFront.com reports, leaving many wondering if Rockstar Games will make an announcement about the game's availability date.

Currently, the petition has over 548,000 signatures and is continuing to gain attention from PC gamers around the world.

Some analysts are pointing out that the XML file leak found in the Playstation 3 beta reference doesn't necessarily signal the PC release of Grand Theft Auto 5, the Christian Post reports.
