Avengers 2 Age Of Ultron Cast: ‘Nick Fury’ Confirms Elizabeth Olsen As Scarlet Witch; Magneto’s Daughter Joins Marvel Cinematic Universe

The rumors are confirmed! Elizabeth Olsen will play The Scarlet Witch in the Avengers. No less than top Agent of Shield Nick Fury confirms. Magneto's daughter is an Avenger, not an X-Man.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in numerous films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently confirmed Elizabeth Olsen's participation in the much-anticipated sequel:

"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year. I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script."

Whether it's as Nick Fury or his own self, it's hard to dispute Samuel L. Jackson. As the SHIELD Director, he makes a cameo in the new series "Agents of SHIELD." The early cameo appearance has fans excited for more, but writer-director Joss Whedon is quick to pacify the emotions: "We may see some people and more people from the Marvel Universe that are not cinematic. The most important people are these people [the cast],"

The Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Comics Universe is actually Magneto's daughter. She is a mutant like her father, and her real name is Wanda Maximoff. Since it seems like Joss Whedon has the mandate to rewrite origin stories, there is a possibility that this may not be followed.

Magneto is a character under trademark with 20th Century Fox, along with all the characters of the X-Men. That included the villains, and Magneto is the X-Men's greatest foe (but sometimes portrayed as their mentor).
