Canadian Fans Vie For Sherlock Con As Martin Freeman Lands Fargo Role

"Sherlock" season 3 may be a ways away, but not only are Canadian fans trying to start their very own Sherlock con, but they will see Martin Freeman in an new FX series based on the 1996 classic, "Fargo."

According to a Tumblr post called "Canada Sherlock'd Con," fans are trying to rally Canadian "Sherlock" fans to provide fan support for the convention.

"This project began with a post bemoaning the lack of Sherlock Convention goodness in our home and native land. And why not? We've got the skills, and the obsession to make it happen. Our goal is to create an event that makes us happy and proud," writes the Tumblr post.

"Canada Sherlock'd will be our very own convention, taking place our very own London (Ontario). This event is run entirely on a volunteer basis. If you want to and can help, drop us a line! There are so many things to do before, during and after an event like this, and we greatly value everyone who helps!"

So, if you are in Canada and you love "Sherlock," be sure to reblog and get the word out on this project!

Meanwhile, Martin Freeman has signed on to star in a 10-episode limited series on FX alongside Billy Bob Thornton.

The "Fargo" adaptation will see Martin Freeman as Lester Nygaard, the same role made iconic by William H. Macy.

Production will begin with Martin Freeman this month in Calgary, Canada.

Perhaps he should lend some support to his Canadian "Sherlock" fans!
