In a recent interview with France's "Le Grand Journal," Katy Perry defended Miley Cyrus' "I Can't Be Tamed" behavior.

The "Roar" singer admitted that when she was Cyrus' age she was most likely acting the same way.

"I think she is 19-years-old, 19 or 20, and I think when I was maybe 19 or 20 I was acting just as crazy," said Perry. "But I'm 28 now, I'm a old lady."

She salutes girls in the industry like Cyrus for creating their own identity. However, she personally rather be judged based on her talent.

"I really like all my focus and attention to be on my music. I admire those ladies, and I know they are all doing there own thing," said Perry. "For me, I really like people to understand that I'm her to entertain them through music. I don't like to necessarily abuse... I'm not saying that they do, but each and everyone of us have our own style."

It seems like Perry is getting a lot of recognition for her music. After the singer promoted Obamacare, President Obama tweeted her a "Thank you" with a #ROAR hashtag.

Perry appreciated Obama's acknowledgement.

"I guess presidents like to listen to music too," said Perry, referring to Obama's "Roar" tweet. "I was very proud so, of course, I tweeted back and said 'Thank you' because I love him."

Speaking of "Roar," curious minds wanted to know whether John Mayer's girl ever had the "eye of the tiger" and threw a punch.

"I'm a lover not a fighter," said Perry. "There's only been one fight a long time ago. It was a girl fight between a bunch of girls and I just stuck my hand out. I pulled a weave off or something."
