Dad Disowns Daughter In Letter Over Her Treatment Of Gay Son [VIDEO]; "A Parent Disowning Her Child Is What Goes 'Against Nature'"; Gay Teen's Struggle For Acceptance Has A Happier Ending With Grandfather

A Dad disowns his daughter after she kicks her son out of the house for being gay.  A letter written by a father to his daughter over her treatment of his grandson has gone viral on the internet.
In the letter, which according to Inquisitr was sent in to the Facebook group FCKH8 by the teen himself, a father addresses his daughter, saying he is "disappointed in you as a daughter" for kicking her son out due to his sexual orientation.

I'm disappointed in you as a daughter. You're correct that we have a "shame in the family", but mistaken about what it is. Kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real "abomination" here. A parent disowning her child is what goes "against nature." The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that "you didn't raise your son to be gay." Of course you didn't. He was born this way and didn't choose it any more than he being left-handed. You however, have made a choice of being hurtful, narrow-minded and backward. So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I'll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gays put it) grandson to raise, and I don't have time for heart-less B-word of a daughter. If you find your heart, give us a call.

Parents disowning gay children has been a common occurence.  A user posted a letter to reddit last year in which he was disowned by his father for being gay, saying "god did not intend for this unnatural lifestyle".
As recently as 1972, homosexuality was considered a psychiatric disorder.  Changing attitudes about homosexuality have caused a generation gap in the way homosexuality is treated.  Movements for greater acceptance of homosexuality, such as the movement for gay marriage, have made significant progress in recent years, and gay marriage is now legal in many states.
There are organizations which can help gay teens who have been disowned by their parents.  Gay teens are at higher risk of homelessness than other groups due to their parents' rejection.
