2013 Style Icon Awards: Voters from 140 Different Nations Across the Globe

The top 10 celebrities for the 2013 Style Icon Awards (2013 SIA) have been revealed.

October 21, top ten Korean celebrities who have led the K-culture through the year 2013 have been revealed. The list included actress Gong Hyo Jin, hip hop group Dynamic Duo, comedian Shin Dong Yup, idol group SISTAR, actor Yeo Jin Goo, actor Lee Seo Jin, actor and model Lee Jong Suk, actor Jung Woo Sung, rapper and leader of idol group Big Bang G-Dragon and Tilda Swinton.

SIA aims to honor a celebrity who became a significant influence on the lifestyles of the general public in terms of music, fashion, art and culture. The concept of this year's Style Icon Awards is "Otherness", meaning they are looking for an icon that is unlike anybody else.

According to SIA representatives, they focused on approximately 50 nominees with outstanding records (in terms of promotional activities and significant events) from October 2012 to September 2013. Starting on October 21, people made votes online on the official homepage of the Style Icon Awards for two weeks. Approximately 435,844 people from 140 different countries participated in the voting process.

The top ten celebrities who have been chosen have been reported to have been chosen by weighing in 30% of online votes, 40% of research results and 30% of the judging of the members of the executive committee of SIA.

The 2013 Style Icon Awards will take place on October 24 at the CJ E&M Center. Live footage will be covered by OnStyle, tvN, Mnet, XTM, O'Live, StoryOn, as well as global channels Channel M and Mnet America to broadcast the awards live in 11 different countries including the United States and Australia to name a few.
