Simpsons Season 26 550th Episode Character Death! Are They Pulling Off A ‘Brian Griffin-Like Death’ For Ratings?

Simpsons Season 26 is going to be memorable for the series’ fans as creators of the hit cartoon series hinted a major character death come its 550th episode.

Executive producer of the show Al Jean recently vowed that a character’s death on the show would be deadlier than the Game Of Throne’s “Red Wedding” episode that would certainly shock fans.

“This is going to be a bigger deal than King Joffrey on Game of Thrones – the Yellow Wedding!” Jean said during a conference call. “The character that dies is portrayed by an actor who won an Emmy for playing that character. People who reported on it then reported we were killing an ‘iconic’ character; I’d like to say it’s a great character, but I never used the word ‘iconic.’ It’s a terrific character and it [happens in] our premiere this coming year.”

"It's a terrific character and it [happens in] our premiere this coming year," Jean continued. "But just because a character is dying, that doesn’t mean he [or she] won’t pop up in future episode."

Meanwhile, last October before the unexpected loss of Marcia Wallace, who voices Edna Krabappel, Al Jean announced that they would be killing one main character on the show.

"I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is," he said in a Canada’s Sun News.

The series has already collected over 27 Emmys which dated back since 1989 including Outstanding Voice-Over Performance awards for actors Nancy Cartwright, Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Jackie Mason, Yeardley Smith, Marcia Wallace and Hank Azaria, among others.

Edna Krabappel on the other hand was not supposed to be the one leaving. They stressed that Marcia already pre-recorded hundreds of recordings that are already ready for many episodes to come.

But who can it be?

“Everyone came back for Chip’s funeral,” Kent Brockman said. Who could be this Chip character? If you would do a little Google search for the name Chip it is most likely connected to the name Charles.

Who’s a Charles in the show? Charles Montgomery Burnes.

A Chip Davis who was said to be "Springfield’s most beloved character that you never saw” reportedly died in one of the episodes in the 25th season.

Can this be a premonition?

 Another rumor is from a friend of creator Sam Simon. Actress Jennifer Tilly who was said to be poker buddies with Simon told TMZ that it might be Apu.

Who would it be? We would never know. We just have to find out ourselves on the Simpsons Season 26.
