Sony Xperia T3 Launched With 5.3" Display, Super Slim Frame, Snapdragon 800 SoC, 8MP Primary Camera, Android KitKat

Yesterday, Sony released a promo image of an upcoming device. We all thought it to be the new Xperia Z2 Ultra. It turns out that the Japanese manufacturer is preparing a midrange handset with a extremely thin frame.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Sony launched the Xperia T3 which it brands as the 'slimmest 5.3-inch phone'. It's not thin enough to be the world's thinnest, but it certainly is thin enough to be well loved by Sony and Android fans.

In the report, the Sony Xperia T3 will feature a 5.3-inch Triluminous IPS display with a decent HD (1280 x 720) resolution. The Android-powered smartphone will also boast a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a Snapdragon chipset. Also on board is Adreno 305 for decent graphics performance, and an 8GB built in memory of which 5GB is user accessible.

On the camera department, the Xperia T3 packs a midrange 8MP Sony Exmor shooter with 1080p video capture, and a 1.1MP front cam that can handle 720p video recording.

If connectivity is your thing, then you will be happy to know that the new Sony handset gets most of the usual options which include 2G/3G, LTE Cat. 4 for up to 150Mbps download speeds, Wi-Fi with Miracast and DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS.

Finally, device supports microSD cards that can support up to 32GB of memory, Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, and number of color options such as white, black and purple. There is also a 2,500mAh battery that promises 13 hours of talk time.

Knowing Sony, the Japanese has once again used its Omnibalance design for the Xperia T3, making it look more premium that it really is.

Metal frames which hold several hardware buttons are exposed on the sides while polycarbonate plastic covers the front and back of the device.

As of now, neither availability nor pricing details have not yet been confirmed.
