Upcoming LG Phones 2014: Korean Manufacturer Already Preparing The G3 Mini, Rumored Specs Incl. 4.5" Display, Quad-Core CPU, 5MP Shooter

With less than a week after LG announced its latest Android flagship, the Korean company is reportedly working on a mini version already.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, an Indian listing was leaked, showing that LG is already testing a smaller version of the flagship G3.

Dubbed as model numberr LGD722, the alleged mini G3 will be shipped to India to be tested, which could mean that a release date may be held some time this month.

In the leaked listing, the upcoming Android phone from LG is tipped to get a smaller 4.5-inch display, almost an inch smaller than the G3's 5.5 screen. The phone also packs a quad-core CPU running at 1.2GHz, 8GB of internal memory, a 5 megapixel shooter at the back and a 2,100mAh battery which should be enough for the device to last 8-12 hours with moderate to heavy usage.

While LG has continuously been working on its high-end smartphones such as the recently launched LG G3 and the Optimus G Pro 2 which made its debut in February, the Korean company still allots a lot of time in developing its midrange group.

In a recent report by GSM Arena, the LG G3 is already beating the Galaxy S5 in sales in its home country, but LG wants to take it a step further - to beat Samsung in the international market.

It was just a year ago that LG became relevant again in the Android competition, thanks to its G2 smartphone which was a heavy favorite among Android fans. The pure Android LG Nexus 4 and 5 were also successful releases by the Korean manufacturer as it worked with Google, though there are still things to keep in check in order to label them (especially the Nexus 5) as a no-compromise handset.

Hopefully, this G3 mini could do the same for the 'other' Korean manufacturer.
