Sailor Moon Crystal Premiere Episode 1 Screening On June 30 Before Release Date: Viz Acquires Anime License For North American English Dub Episodes After Live Streaming

As "Sailor Moon Crystal" prepares for its release in July, Japanese fans can see the premiere episode 1 in advance at a special event!

According to Crunchyroll, the event it titled "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Usagi Tsukino Birthday Party in Special ViVi Night," and will be hosted at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo at 7:00pm on June 30.

Reportedly, the dress code theme is "marine," and men are not allowed to enter unless they are in the company of women. During this event, episode 1 of "Sailor Moon Crystal" will be screened before the July 5 premiere date.

According to Kotaku, Hulu will begin releasing the original "Sailor Moon" anime with English subtitles every Monday. These episodes are presented in their original aspect ratio, and are uncut and uncensored. Two additional episodes will appear every week.

In addition to Hulu, the episodes will also be available on Viz.com. The company will also release the original series on Blu-Ray and DVD starting this fall in deluxe box sets. Each box set, according to Den of Geek, will cover about half a season.

Even better, Viz has also acquired the rights to "Sailor Moon Crystal," which means the anime remake will most likely air in North America in addition to the worldwide live stream.

According to Anime News Network, "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal" will air 26 episodes, with a new episode premiering online on a bi-monthly basis for one year. Episode 1 will premiere on July 5.
