Nexus 10 2 Release Date Not Pushing Through As Google Plans To Introduce New Line Of Devices; Android Silver Debuting At I/O Conference 2014?

Nexus 10 2 release date might not happen anymore.

Reportedly, the entire Nexus line may be dropped as latest reports suggest that Google is planning to reveal a new line of Android devices. If this will push through, the Nexus 10 2 release date will not happen anymore, as well as the launch of other rumored next-gen Nexus devices like the Nexus 6 smartphone.

The new line of devices that Google will reportedly unveil during its I/O Conference 2014 is currently known as Android Silver. Describing the Android Silver program, the post on Gospel Herald noted that it "does not represent a particular smartphone line, but rather an entirely new system built upon a broad range of mobile devices created by different manufacturers."

This allows the possibility that Android Silver will be available on smartphones not only from Google's own lineup of handset devices but also from other manufacturers such as LG, HTC and Samsung.

TBRI analyst Jack Narcotta told Computerworld.com, "Android Silver is more of a revamp of the Nexus program than it is about Google trying to exert more control over the Android ecosystem it's had a large hand in creating.

On the other hand, a report on Gamer Headlines suggested the likelihood that Nexus 10 2 release date will still take place. And if it will happen, tech fans should not anticipate that Nexus 10 2 release date will be scheduled at some point soon.

Most probably, the Nexus 10 2 release date will be set for some time during the winter season of 2014. The report reads, "Don't expect the Nexus 10 2 to be arriving any time soon though. From all accounts, mass-production of the new model will begin sometime in late July or early August, which means the Nexus 10 2 will be landing sometime during the winter Holidays or late fall at the earliest."

If Nexus 10 2 will still be released in the market, some of its alleged specs are 10.1- inch screen with a high-resolution display with pixel density of 330 PPI. The display screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Nexus 10 2 might also sport an 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP for the front and it could be powered by 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor or the NVIDIA Tegra 4, 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU, according to a report on Christian Today.  16 GB and 32 GB models for Nexus 10 2 might be available in the market.

Stay tune for more updates about Nexus 10 2 release date, as well as Google's Android Silver program.
