Tyler Skaggs (4-3, 4.14 ERA) worked around five walks to give up one run in six innings against the A's on Saturday, but immediately got into trouble in the seventh, giving up a leadoff homer and back-to-back singles before exiting and watching both of his runners score.

"It's frustrating," Skaggs told MLB.com. "It was a hard-fought game from our team, and by their team, and it's just frustrating."

Brad Peacock (1-4, 4.76 ERA) continues to throw the ball well, going 1-0 with a 2.13 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings in past two starts. He's pitched at least six innings in five consecutive starts, three of which have been quality.

"It feels better," Peacock said. "This year, I'm just getting it and going. It just doesn't give me time to think about who's in the box or what to do next," Peacock said. "It just kind of makes me feel like, 'Get the ball, go and attack.'"

An MRI on Wednesday showed nothing significantly wrong with Trout's ailing back, so he's not expected to head to the disabled list. Trout, who could return for Friday's opener against the Chicago White Sox, has sat out three of the last four games and exited in the second inning of Tuesday's 7-2 loss in Houston, according to ESPN.com.

"If I don't feel it at all, I'm going to play. If I feel it a little bit, I should just be smart about it," said Trout, batting .293 with 11 homers and a team-best 38 RBIs.
