‘Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’ Release Date Set For October 14! [VIDEO] Moon Dance Trailer For The Xbox 360, PS3 And PC Title Revealed; Pre-Order Now To Get Bonus Content

The official "Borderlands: The Pre-sequel" release date has been finally confirmed!

It's time for an awesome moon dance as the newest trailer for "Borderlands: The Pre-sequel" revealed the game's highly-awaited release date. Gamers looking forward for the upcoming iteration of the Gearbox game, which is set between the first and the second Borderlands titles, will only have to wait for months.

Prior to the game's appearance at E3 2014, it was announced that the "Borderlands: The Pre-sequel" release date in North America is set for October 14. Meanwhile, gamers in Europe and UK have to mark October 17 on their calendar as the Borderlands: The Pre-sequel release date.

As cited on Digital Spy, Randy Pitchford, the Gearbox Software president shared, "It's incredibly exciting that an all-new Borderlands experience is as close as this October."

Unfortunately, Borderlands: The Pre-sequel will not be available for the latest generation of consoles. Developed by 2K Australia and Gearbox, the game will only launch for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The upcoming version is "set on Pandora's moon, meaning firefights will have a few gravity-bending twists," as described on the Market For Computer And Video Games website.

Explaining why Borderlands: The Pre-sequel is not coming to PS4 and Xbox One, Pitchford previously said that they wanted to spend their resources to where the demand is, which, apparently is on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. He stated:

"I don't think I would have to stretch far to suggest there's probably a lot of demand for more Borderlands. That demand lives on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. We don't know to what extent it'll live on the next-gen. I imagine over time - maybe by the time we get to the third or fourth Christmas - there will be enough of an install base."

Furthermore, Pitchford noted, "It's not free to build a game for next-gen. So when we decide where to spend our resources, we want to spend all of the attention we can on the game itself."

Meanwhile, as reported on IGN, Borderlands fans who will pre-order The Pre-sequel for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC are entitled to get the "Shock Drop Slaughter Pit" as bonus content.
