Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Review, Update: Android 4.4.2 KitKat For Phablet Delayed, July 2014 New Date For OS Upgrade

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 review, update: Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 may need to wait a little more to get their upgrade to 4.4 KitKat. The tentative release of the new OS update for the phablet maybe around July, an Australian carrier notes.

Earlier, Gotta Be Mobile has said that the roll out of the 4.4.2 has began but at a very slow pace. The site noted that faster access to the new OS update maybe available around June, right before the Google I/O conference. New reports suggest, that it could be by July.

According to Breathecast, Australian carriers Optus and Telstra renewed their update schedules. Telstra said that Samsung has not yet completed its test submission but will do so around mid-June, delaying the release of the updates until July 14.

One thing definite is that the OS will be available for Note 2 users. SamFirmware notes that there have been 11 Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat updates pushed out for the GT-N7100 model in May. There has also been an update for the GT-N7105 variant of the handset. GBM pointed out that the GT-N7105 is only available in Nordic countries.

Though the 4.4 KitKat rollout for the Note 2 has not been Samsung’s best, it’s still showing signs of life and it’s expected that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat update will be pushed out to every Samsung Galaxy Note 2 model in every single region of the world.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the upcoming Android 4.4.3 OS update is already being pushed and though the Note 2 has yet to complete the first update, it’s still very much possible that it would be having the Android 4.4.2 and Android 4.4.3 as well very soon.
