Evan Rachel Wood Sued; `10 Things I Hate About Life’ Producers Want $30 Million But It's like Getting True Blood Fron a Stone

Evan Rachel Wood Sued: Evan Rachel Wood might start to hate life. The former queen of Louisiana Vampires is being sued. Evan Rachel Wood dropped out of the movie "10 Things I Hate About Life" and the producers want to get some True Blood from a stone. The producers took Evan Rachel Wood to court for a $30 million lawsuit for not doing the movie.

TMZ reports that Evan Rachel Wood was sued by the producer of the film "10 Things I Hate About Life," a planned sequel to the hit 1999 comedy "10 Things I Hate About You." The lawsuit claims that Wood was paid $300,000 in advance to play the lead in "10 Things I Hate About Life" and the producer claims that the recently separated actress took the money and then bailed on the movie.

According to  E! News, the rest of the $30 million includes $20 million in lost profits, $500,000 in lost financing costs, $6 million in lost investment, and $5 million in damages. Wood was sued along with "As You Wish Productions," a loan out company that provides Wood's professional services.

According to Deadline Hollywood, 10 Things Film LLC filed the lawsuit on Thursday, June 5. The suit claims Wood is in breach of her contract by refusing to appear in the movie. The True Blood actress signed on to the project in 2012, but filming shut down in January 2013. The producers say they pleaded with the True Blood actress to return to the movie when it resumed production. They agreed to pay her more money, but Wood did not return to the film.

A statement from Evan Rachel Wood's people says "The lawsuit is preposterous and simply a bullying tactic from financially troubled producers. The production shut down in February 2013 when the producers ran out of money. Even after that, Evan agreed to resume production in Nov. 2013 by which time the producers said they would have cleared up their issues. However, the producers still could not get their act together, nor did they pay Evan money that was owed. Repeated subsequent promises by the producers to resume production and pay Evan also turned out to be false. Enough is enough. The producers, not Evan, have breached contract."

The complaint claims that Wood "seemingly changed her mind about appearing in the film, ultimately refusing without any legal justification to fulfill her contractual obligations and instead opting to walk out on the project."

The lawsuit continues "Plaintiff has suffered significant and extensive damages and financial harm, including, but not limited to, the loss of, a minimum, $6 million equity investments, costs and related expenses in the Picture, financing costs and expenses in the amount of, at a minimum, $500,000.00, lost profits in the amount of, at a minimum, $20 million and additional general and special damages in the amount of $5 million."
