2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Ricky Rubio Joins Kevin Love Out Of Minnesota? Flashy Spaniard Will Bolt If T-Wolves Don’t Get A Star In Love Trade!

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions start with Kevin Love and it will set off a chain reaction. The Timberwolves may have to face the prospect of losing not one-but two of their superstars.

Ricky Rubio, who once questioned Kevin Love's leadership capabilities, is now close to panic mode when faced with his possible departure. He wanted to talk to the second team, All-NBA forward about his plans, and apparently to persuade him to stay.

But there is only one way for Love to stay-that is, if the Timberwolves would start winning. Unfortunately, not even Ricky Rubio is confident of that.

From nba.com:

"Rubio, while saying he wants to stay, made it clear his own future in Minnesota would be in play. He, too, could take a similar tact and try to force a trade if a Love deal meant gathering picks and prospects."

Ricky Rubio will bear the brunt of the aftermath when Kevin Love leaves. He makes it clear that he does not want to carry the burden alone.

He has a right to demand because as Flip Saunders claimed, as many as 16 teams are calling for Kevin Love. They have a choice to remain competitive. Rubio wants them to take that choice. He confides to nba.com:

"I like Minnesota. But I want to win too. Of course when a big guy like him leaves you're thinking about what's going to be happening with the team. Are we going to lose a lot? Before I came to Minnesota, the season before they won like 17 games. I was a little scared when I went there. I'm coming from Europe, where I was playing in Barcelona. I think we lost six games or seven games in two seasons and every loss was a disaster. I don't want to go through a process like every win is something special."

Rubio did not leave his homeland to become a doormat in the NBA. There will be teams that will take interest in Rubio. Or Minnesota could package him and Love together for the best possible haul.

The plot thickens, and this year's draft is expected to have a lot of wheeling and dealing that will spillover to the summer.
