Samsung Galaxy Core Lite Release Date: Specs Of 4G Handset Incl. LTE, 4.7-inch Screen, 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor; An Affordable Alternative To Flagship

Samsung Galaxy Core Lite release date: Specs of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Core Lite include 4G LTE connectivity, a 4.7-inch screen, and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. Android Community notes that the Core Lite maybe the cheapest Samsung handset to offer LTE connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Lite provides an affordable alternative to the Samsung flagships present, delivering the look and feel of a high-end Samsung smartphone for a cheaper price. The estimated price tag for the Android-powered phone is $265.

The 4.7-inch display has a resolution of 480 x 800 and the quad-core processor is powered with 1 GB of RAM. The Core Lite comes with Android 4.3 out of the box. Other specs include a 2,000 mAh battery, 8GB internal storage expandable with microSD support. It also has a 5MP rear camera.

According to Android Community, for a phone with such lower-end features, the South Korean tech giant does not expect it to turn many heads. The device maybe targeted to cater to Asian markets, where a lot of smaller Android handset makers are encroaching the market share of the company.

The tech site noted that the Galaxy Core Lite’s main draw for buyers is obviously that it has 4G connectivity and having some features of the Galaxy S4. It may not be enough though for power users, but for those searching for an LTE phone on a budget, this maybe a legitimate option.

Phone Arena reports that Samsung will sell the Galaxy Core Lite beginning this month in Taiwan where the handset was officially unveiled at a press event there. There are no reports if the Core Lite will ever run the Android 4.4 KitKat. The unit could possibly be an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean-powered device only. It’s also unsure the Galaxy Core Lite will ever be marketed to the U.S.
