Courtney Cox Engaged To Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid, 'Friends' and 'Cougar Town' Actress Makes Twitter Announcement After Eight Months Of Dating [PHOTO]

Courteney Cox and musician Johnny McDaid announced that they are engaged, Thursday evening.

The couple made the announcement by posting the same picture simultaneously on their Twitter accounts. Courtney Cox's picture read, "I'm engaged to him," and Johnny McDaid's picture read, " I am engaged to her."

The night before sharing their good news, Courtney Cox accidentally flashed her diamond engagement ring by mistake as she exited Craig's restaurant. At the premier of her movie "Just Before I Go," in April Cox said , "I've had a lot more support from him than him just being here tonight. Snow Patrol wrote three original songs for this movie. I'm really fortunate. It's amazing, all the musical things that he brought to it."

Cox, 50, and McDaid, 37, were first spotted out together in December of last year after they were introduced by rocker Ed Sheeran. Sheeran is a friend of McDaid's who lived at the "Friends" star's beach house for a while.

In April, Sheeran told the Mirror that his pals were already living together. "They get on really well and are genuinely good friends, pardon the pun," he said.

Cox's ex-husband David Arquette went on record to give McDaid his stamp of approval in February in an interview with Wendy Williams where he called the musician "amazing" and a "great guy." McDaid plays piano, guitar, and sings backup vocals for alt-rock band Snow Patrol, whose most memorable hit is "Chasing Cars."

The "Cougar Town" actress and Arquette, who got married in 1999, have a 10-year-old daughter together, Coco. Though they split in Octobe 2010, but their by all accounts amicable divorce wasn't finalized until May 2014.
