'Destiny' Beta Release Date Announced: Bungie's Highly Anticipated New Game Comes To Playstation In July And Xbox Systems "shortly thereafter" [PHOTO]
Game developer Bungie has announced that the "Destiny" beta will start this July 17, and it will only be available to PlayStation owners for the first two weeks it goes live.
On Thursday, Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners would also be given access to the forthcoming "Destiny" beta, shortly after the Playstation July 17 beta release date
Bungie announced that the shared-world shooter be available on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One for the first time, less than two weeks after the company's surprise "Destiny" alpha, which was also available to PlayStation owners.
The alpha version of the game allows you to test different features; play the story-based missions throughout Earth alone or with friends, explore these mission places to get side quests, and the Crucible is also available if you want to test your skills against fellow humans.
If Bungie doesn't experience any major problems between now and the end of July, it is pretty obvious that Xbox 360 and Xbox One users can expect to join the "Destiny" beta within a week or two of its PlayStation 3 and PS4 debut.
"Destiny" has an alleged $500 million budget.
The game will also include voice acting from "Game of Throne's" Peter Dinklage's, which has been widely criticized. On the Destiny website, a Bungie spokesperson said that not only was the Ghost voice acting provided by Dinklage not final, but that it will be updated for the forthcoming beta.
"In fact, the Ghost dialog has already been updated for Beta," the post reads. "It will be updated again for launch on September 9th, as well."
The game's environment artist Jason Sussman said it will look much better by launch. "What's really cool for me personally as an environment artist is that the game is already looking better than what people are playing in the alpha, which is really cool," he said.
The Destiny release date is September 9 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
