‘The Hobbit: Battle Of Five Armies’ Spoiler News: Peter Jackson Goes Over Visual Effects Material; Installment Captures Prelude To ‘Lord Of The Rings’

"The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" spoiler news could potentially be good for fans as Peter Jackson is apparently going over the visual effects material handed over by Wega Digital. The latest installment will build a bridge to the "Lord of the Rings" franchise.

Wega Digital senior visual effects supervisor Joe Letteri dished out "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" spoiler news when he talked to Collider.

"The Hobbit's going great. We've got a lot of stuff already turned over to Peter, we're in the middle of it, we're cranking through it," he said.

Joe Letteri also weighed in on the title change from "There and Back Again" to "Battle of the Five Armies," and he agreed that it's for the best."

"Yeah because it is the climax, and you really just need to know that there is another battle for Middle-earth," he said. "The whole extension of 'The Hobbit's' story has really been to get us to the point where we understand when we leave it what's going to happen when you pick up the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and this really does kind of set that tone."

The visual effects supervisor also said that they are making sure the final battle will give justice to the title of the film and also the highlight of Peter Jackson's vision for the J.R.R Tolkien universe.

"You've got all these worlds of Middle-earth ... sort of coming together in this final battle. It's got to give you that sense that if this isn't won, there is no Lord of the Rings; everything's over at this point. So this has to happen, and that allows the sort of peaceful interlude you have before the next trilogy starts."

In an interview with Empire magazine in December last year, Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) the actor admitted that the battle has been looming over the cast and crew of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies."

"I'm predicting about ten weeks for the shoot because it's an extensive battle and each character is going to have their 'hero' moment on the battlefield," he further said of "The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" spoiler news.
