2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Kyle Lowry Staying In Toronto! Raptors Leader Posts New Jersey On Instagram! Underrated Point Guard Finally Gets His Due

Another one bites the dust in the 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions! Teams aspiring for a quality point guard this season can look East, West or South but not North as Kyle Lowry is staying in Toronto!

The report was broken by Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski:

"Free-agent guard Kyle Lowry has reached agreement on a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the Toronto Raptors, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The deal has an early termination option allowing Lowry the opportunity to become a free agent after the third season.

Securing Lowry, a cornerstone of the Raptors revival, had been general manager Masai Ujiri's No. 1 priority in the offseason, and stands as a coup for a franchise that had struggled in years past to get frontline NBA players to commit long-term."

And no less than the star point guard himself has posted on Instagram.

He had this caption:

"This ain't Amir jersey y'all!! Lol..... it's for the 2014-15 season cause Toronto will be my home city."

Amir Johnson is his Toronto Raptors teammate who wears no. 15.

This is a big triumph for the city of Toronto who has had trouble holding on to their big stars. The big sting of losing Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady are still fresh on the minds of many Raptors' fans.

This is another feather in the cap of GM Masai Ujiri. The former Executive of the Year inherited a Raptors roster that was dysfunctional and full of uncertainty. He managed to trade some of the teams' 'baggage' in Andrea Bargnani and even Rudy Gay,

As if those victories weren't enough, he played his cards right on Lowry. Despite offers left and right, Ujiri made the right call to hold on.

To complete the breakthrough year, the next order of business was to keep the unearthed star--and that was completed today. Lowry finally gets the recognition he deserves, as well as a big $12 million salary that he deserves. Next year, he should finally erase all doubts that he's an All-Star.
