Jeremy Lin News: 'Linsanity' Star Felt 'Disrespected' After Rockets Pitched On Melo With His Jersey Number, Where Would The One-Time NBA Sensation End Up This Season?

The latest Jeremy Lin news comes out of Houston as NBA free agency officially begins.

For sure, head coach Kevin Mchale and the rest of the Rockets want to get the best available talent in the free agency market today, and that is either LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony.

Unfortunately, it looks like LBJ is rumored to be more inclined in returning to Miami instead of moving to a new team, given that manager Pat Riley is able to bring in some new faces to build a more solid supporting cast for the Big Three. Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, who both opted out of their contracts as well, may see their contracts get a huge paycut in order to get better players for Miami.

Now that the 4-time MVP is already a farfetched plan, the Rockets are now banking on the other superstar in Anthony, who has been consistent in his pas three seasons scoring-wise.

However, it looks like their desire to bring in Melo will have adverse affects, particularly to their sixth man Jeremy Lin. In a report by Bleacher Report, the Rockets posted a picture of Carmelo wearing the Rockets uniform and holding a Larry O'Brien trophy on one hand.

But in the picture, he wears Rockets jersey number 7. Surprise, surprise - that's Lin's current number.

While several reports mentioned that the management informed Lin about the use of his number, his agents Jim Tanner and Roger Montgomery stated otherwise.

But basing on Lin's recent tweet following the issue, we are sure he was not informed.

When someone asked him about it, he replied that he felt disrespected. Given the history between Lin and Anthony back in New York, the guy certainly has not forgotten.

A couple of years, it was widely believed that Melo had a hand in the Knicks' management and was the reason why New York did not offer Lin a better contract.

In case Anthony decides to move to Houston, then we are pretty sure Lin will have to go. But to where?

According to a report, the 'Linsanity' star may be reunited with the Golden State Warriors via trade where he would be second fiddle to start guard Stephen Curry. The Sixers have also been rumored to be interested in the 25-year-old guard.
