LG G Watch Release Date: Specs Of Android Wear Powered Smartwatch Incl 1.65-inch LCD Display; Will Leave Google Play For Shipment Today, Sells For $229

LG G Watch release date, price: Specs of the Android Wear running LG G Watch include a 1.65-inch screen with 280 x 280 resolution. Under the hood it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor that clocks in at 1.2GHz with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

The device, which will begin shipping out today, is available for $229 and comes in black and gold. The final price of the LG G Watch wasn’t expected. Many thought it would be less expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Gear Neo, which retails for $169.99.

As predicted, one competitor of the LG G Watch is the Moto 360, the device is also powered by the wearable OS, Android Wear. Samsung’s own version of Android Wear is the Samsung Gear Live selling for $199 a piece.

Specs of the LG G Watch was initially leaked by the world famous EV Leaks and a lot the features were on point. The device does run on Android Wear OS and has a 1.65-inch screen, Snapdragon 400 processor, and 4GB of storage. In line with earlier news, the LG G Watch does have a 400 mAh battery which according to Slash Gear, promises up to 36 hours of standby time.

Dimensions of the wearable are 37.9x46.5x9.95mm and weighs 63 grams. It charges via micro-USB. The charger of the LG G Watch is easy to use compared to other wearables.

LG has selected a squared-off aesthetic for its first Android Wear gadget. It finished its stainless steel body with black and gold variants plus a matching rubber stamp. Slash Gear notes that the device feels more like a reference design or developer device, with its simple straight lines. The strap for the LG G Watch is a standard 22m-watch band, good for easy replacement.

According to Slash Gear LG makes a solid first impression with the LG G Watch and Android Wear did show some definite strengths.
