Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: When Will The Metal-Clad And Premium Galaxy F Be Released?

Earlier this year, rumors of the best upcoming Samsung phones for 2014 surfaced, and leading it is the alleged premium lineup of phones which is dubbed as Galaxy F. 

However, just a couple of months ago, a Samsung executive direclty debunked such rumors and stated that no such smartphone is under development. 

But just after the LG G3 was announced by the end of May, new rumors surrounding a Prime version of the Galaxy S5 have surfaced. 

According to experts, this higher spec'd version should be able to take on the G3's monster specs head on, unlike the current Galaxy S5 flagship which only packs a 5.1-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and 2GB of RAM. 

Once these rumors appear one by one, the Galaxy F prime smartphone once again became a trending topic in the rumor mill. Alleged leaks by reliable leakster EV Leaks have further cemented the belief among Android and Samsung fans that the Galaxy F is really coming soon. 

The question now is when exactly?

The Galaxy S5 was just announced in February, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 LTE-A for South Korea a few weeks ago, and the Galaxy Note 4 is set to be unveiled in September. 

Based on this schedule, we could expect the Galaxy F to be announced late this July or early August. That way, the phone would not directly compete with its own bigger sibling, and Samsung's well-loved phablet lineup. 

However, the phone could also be unveiled during the IFA event, together with the Note 4, considering that the two devices have two different target markets. 

As a premium device, it has been rumored for the longest time that the Samsung Galaxy F will have a metal build - the first time a Samsung Galaxy series smartphone would get a metal back cover. Several leaked images of the device courtesy of EV Leaks have already given us a preview of what the Galaxy F could look like. 

We will just have to wait for the Korean manufacturer to announce it.
