Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger Mocks Himself and Monty Python In Advance of Monty Python Reunion Shows [VIDEO]

Rolling Stones leader Mick Jagger poked fun at the Monty Python troupe for their upcoming reunion shows. The comedy troupe will perform 10 sold-out shows at London's 02 Arena, which seats nearly 20,000.

The five surviving members of Monty Python are performing together live for the first time since 1980. Tickets for the Monty Python reunion concerts at London's O2 arena sold out in 40 seconds.

Mick Jagger took the mickey out of Monty Python in a YouTube video clip. The clip premiered at  a press conference before it was uploaded to the social media site. In a video posted on the Monty Python YouTube channel, Mick is sitting on a couch with The Rolling Stones' drummer Charlie Watts when one of their assistants asks if should pick up ticked to the Monty Python show.

"Monty Python, are they still going?" Jagger says. "Who wants to see that again? It was funny in the Sixties."

The Monty Python comedy troupe will reunite for a final live goodbye tour. Cleese says don't look for the silly walk sketch at the O2 show because "the only reason it became so iconic was the brilliance of my performance, because I never thought it was a very good sketch."The Monty Python reunion show will contain clips from past sketches, along with skits that will be performed live for the first time. BBC News reported that there will also be special guests like astrophysicist Steven Hawking, in the filmed portions, such as as reported by BBC News.

When the assistant tells Mick how fast the tickets sold out Mick says "Wow. They must be coining it in. That's pretty amazing. But they're still a bunch of wrinkly old men trying to relive their youth and make a load of money. I mean, the best one died years ago!"

All the Pythons are there except Graham Chapman who died in 1989.

The Monty Python troupe, who are all about 72 years old said they were inspired by Mick Jagger, who indeed moves just like Jagger.

"The opening number is quite energetic. We leap around and it sets the standard. I'm quite worn out after the first number. We've got Jagger as an example and we can still move fast around the stage," Cleese said.
