New Android Phones 2014: Two New ZTE Phones Spotted On Chinese TENAA, Specs Incl. 1080p Displays, 2GB RAM, 8MP Cameras

With the sheer number of smartphones we have already seen so far this year, recent reports show that more new Android phones for 2014 are coming, and this time from China.

According to a report by GSM Arena, two high-end smartphones have been spotted on the Chinese TENAA website, which is the equivalent of the FCC in the US. It goes to show that these two handsets are already nearing their respective announcement dates so we better stay tuned.

Both coming from Chinese phone maker ZTE, the two handsets are high-end in terms of processor and chipset specs, but goes for the midrange level in the camera department.

The first of the phones, dubbed as NX505J is a Nubia phone that packs a 5.5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz (the same clockspeed of the HTC One M8), 2GB of RAM and a 16GB built-in memory with option for expansion via the provided microSD card slot.

Meanwhile, the lower-end of the two, which goes by the model number NX507J, gets a smaller 5-inch display, but still with Full HD resolution. It has the same 2GB RAM while the quad-core CPU's clockspeed has been reduced to only 2GHz. In the report, the device should come with a MediaTek chipset.

Both handsets pack an 8-megapixel camera at the back, and a 5MP front shooter, and both phones run on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box.

We have to remind you that either of these handsets is not the upcoming ZTE flagship, dubbed Nubia Z7 which packs a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution, 3GB RAM, the latest Snapdragon 805 chipset, and a high resolution 16MP primary camera.

ZTE certainly has a number of phones up its sleeve to compete in the competitive Chinese market, though we sure would want these devices to make an appearance in the international market as well.
