Pacquiao Vs Mayweather Fight Could Earn $300 Million? Money Not Keen On Fighting Pacman But Low Pay Per View Sales Could Force Him To Make The Fight His 'Big Surprise' In May 2015!

The Pacquiao Vs Mayweather fight could reportedly earn $ 300 million dollars! While the two fighters' handlers could not see eye to eye, the huge paycheck and the lack of lucrative options will let them see the light!

Floyd Mayweather has often been accused of ducking Pacquiao for a number of reasons: from his disdain of Top Rank head Bob Arum to Pacman not being worthy of fighting him. He has hinted that there are young and hungry fighters that he wants to take on instead.

But the question is, does the public want to see that fight? From The Daily Mail:

"The pound-for-pound No 1 faces Maidana on September 13, having already beaten the 31-year-old at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in their first bout in May.

Mayweather, though, isn't as keen to fight Pacquiao, but is eager to rake in the money."

Both fighters are nearing the twilight of their careers. Considering their lavish lifestyles and the loss of their bread and butter, they would definitely look at one big payday to set them for retirement. It may not be the best motivation, but for the fans-whatever puts them in the ring together is good enough.

The Daily Mail also took the other side:

"Pacquiao challenged Mayweather, telling him to put up or shut up.

Pacquiao committed himself to Bob Arum's outfit until the end of 2016, by which time he will be 38 and considering retirement.

The eight-division world champion's fights are shown on HBO in America, while Mayweather is contracted to rival Showtime, meaning a fight between the two would be seemingly unlikely."

Boxing is now too complicated and more of an ugly business than a beautiful sport. Money has been prideful in his stance despite the relentless pursuit of Arum and Pacquiao . Their obligations to different networks is a deterrent, but not an impossible hurdle.

From Daily Mail: "Arum, however, claimed the $300million mega-fight could still happen.

'We want to fight him and we're willing to discuss it at any point. There are two ways to go here. One is to do a Mayweather fight with both HBO and Showtime involved, as they did with Lewis-Tyson, as I understand Mayweather is under contract to Showtime through 2015. The companies could come together and put on the show. Or, the other alternative is, if Floyd wanted to fight Manny in 2016, he could return to HBO and we could do it there.'"

There are hints that the first option may happen after the two fighters respective fights near the end of the year. Boxing fans have panned both Mayweather-Maidana 2 and Pacquiao vs Algieri as "lame fights" and will probably underwhelm with the revenue. Perhaps this is what prompted Money to say:

"September 13, back to business, Marcos Maidana-Floyd Mayweather, part II. And then in May, I'm fighting in May and I'll have a big surprise for you all."

There are no other fighters worthy to be called a 'big surprise' except Manny Pacquiao. Is this what every boxing fan has waited half a decade for?
