English Premier League: Sacramento 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion gracefully made it three pre-season friendly wins in a row as Graham Dorrans penalty marked the difference between the two sides in California.

Dorrans flawless play, making no mistake from the spot after Victor Anichebe, had been brought down in the area on the 13 minutes by Nemanja Vukovic. Yet, it was a sweat dropping victory for Alan Irvine's side, who where indebted to a string of fine saves by goalkeeper Boaz Myhill in a kick off that was played against the full of colors backdrop of the California State Fair.

But the Baggies missed out injured players Gareth McAuley (calf), Joleon Lescott (calf), James Morrison (knee), Chris Brunt (groin) and Craig Dawson (thigh) - held on for the narrow victory despite the 82nd-minute dismissal of Craig Gardner for a couple of bookable offence.

Manager Alan Irvine, lift his hopes up to some of the injured players to be able to make an appearance in a re-match with the same side this Friday.

"It was always going to be a tough test because they're right in the middle of their season," he told www.wba.co.uk. "Sacramento has played a lot of games and is obviously at their peak."

West Bromwich Albion: Myhill; O'Neil, Baird, Olsson (D Daniels, 81), Pocognoli; Gardner, Mulumbu, Yacob, Dorrans; Berahino, Anichebe (Roofe, 77).
