Barclay's Premier League: Ilkeston 1-6 Leicester City

Great players like Ben Hamer and Marc Albrighton, who are new signings, made their Leicester City debuts as the Foxes' pre-season program taste the victory at the New Manor Ground.

Chris Wood doubled the lead on stroke of half-time; after that, Captain Wes Morgan kicked off the scoring on half an hour. City made 11 changes at the break and David Nugent, last season's top scorer, added a couple more, with Tom Hopper, an Academy graduate, and a Laurie Wilson own goal furnishing the score.

Manager Nigel Pearson told www.lcfc.com, "And it's a first outing for all the players out there in a competitive situation and it are nice to get them all though 45 minutes each, but there's still a large portion of pre-season remaining."

"It's not necessarily about the fashion in which you win. We want the players to apply themselves correctly and I think they did tonight, so all in all a good first run out, but that's all it is."
