Barclay's Premier League: Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Everton

            Everton's supposed to be victorious game was denied by a Tranmere goal with four minutes more on the clock in their pre-season match of the summer at Prenton Park.

The first goal was possessed by Steven Naismith on 26 minutes; just when he finished from close range after latching on to Luke Garbutt's cross moments before Cole Stockton replied for the hosts.

            Leon Osman hoped to drag Everton the win when he scored from a corner on 20 minutes but a competitive James Rowe broke through and slotted past Joel Robles for the late equalizer.

"It was a great mixture and we were able to see a lot of youngsters, as well as completing a very fitting exercise for what we are trying to do in pre-season," manager Roberto Martinez told www.evertonfc.com. "Seamus Coleman came off as a precaution because he felt his hamstring slightly. Apart from that it's been a real success in what we wanted to achieve."

Everton first-half XI: Robles, Browning, Garbutt, Duffy, Distin, Lundstram, Barry, Kennedy, McAleny, Pienaar, Naismith.

Everton second-half XI: Robles, Coleman,  Hibbert, Alcaraz, Stones, Gibson, McCarthy, Long, Osman, McGeady, Hope.
