2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Eric Bledsoe 'Stuck' With Suns? Star Guard Wants Max Contract But Teams Say No! How Much Is He Really Worth?

Eric Bledsoe is one of the last remaining names in 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions but his 'restricted' status limits his options. In fact, there are almost none.

The Phoenix Suns have actually offered him a $ 48 million/4 year contract that is fair enough, considering Toronto Raptors' star guard Kyle Lowry, who was arguably the best point guard in the Eastern Conference last year, received a similar contract.

With no other offers coming his way, the Phoenix Suns see no reason why they should level up the offer. The two parties are in a stalemate, and this may be the worst scenario for both parties.

How much is Eric Bledsoe worth? True, he has more potential than Kyle Lowry, simply because of his athleticism. But he has not yet truly proven his talent on a consistent basis, even at the minimum of staying healthy.

These are factors cited by SB Nation's experts:

"Austin Elmer: If Bledsoe would have stayed healthy the whole year, I think he'd have earned a max deal for 5 years. But, since he only played half the year due to injury, I think he is worth $14M per year for 4 years. I would be fine with the Suns matching a max offer sheet if Bledsoe were offered one from another team."

Bledsoe actually wonders why he was not offered the full five years, since he was willing to stay in Phoenix. The Suns' hesitation was based on his injury, but if Phoenix is confident with their training staff, then they should have been willing to risk the extra year.

"Geoff Allen: I think the walk away number is more than $14 million.  I wouldn't mind doing a contract that averages that for 5 years, but that is front loaded, similar to the contract Channing Frye just signed with the Magic.  Everyone knows the concerns with Bledsoe: he hasn't had a fully healthy season yet, and he hasn't been an upper echelon player for very long."

Bledsoe's point of leverage was that the Suns' missed out on their free agent targets-thinking they would be desperate. But the Suns have no reason to be, especially if they risk their future with Goran Dragic for it.
