Barclays Premier League: Jefferson Montero finalized the Swansea City's sixth singing

Jefferson Montero completed the Swansea City's sixth signing of the summer. The arrival of the Ecuador International put a period in searching for the Swansea City's club members.

The 24-year-old player has penned a four-year deal sheet at the Liberty Stadium following his transfer from Mexican side CA Monarcas Morelia for an undisclosed fee.

Montero follows the footmarks of achievements of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis, Middlesbrough's Marvin Emnes and Stephen Kingsley from Falkirk.

The right-footed winger, who was known for his pace, was featured to represent his country in this summer's FIFA World Cup in Brazil and started all three group matches as Ecuador dropped out on qualification for the knockout stages. He will give Monk further selections out wide as he is comfortable playing in either flank.

He also faced the Swans in a friendly match while on loan at Real Betis back in 2011. This former Villarreal winger has been capped 43 times and helped his country win the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil, attaining in the final as Ecuador beat Jamaica 2-1. He also scored in Morelia's Apertura Copa MX final win last November.

"I was impressed by Swansea when I played against them in a friendly while I was at Betis," Montero told www.swanseacity.net. "Their style is very attractive and Antonio Valencia also spoke very well about the team - he said they are always a tough team to play against. We've spoken recently and we joked about Swansea and Manchester United playing in the first game. So that will be an interesting match for us."

He added: "He also told me how great the league is. Every single game is very competitive, and I'm really looking forward to playing in it. I've played in La Liga and in Mexico, but now I am in the Premier League - the best in the world - and I want to thank Swansea for giving me this opportunity."

Swansea City's next match in preparation for the 2014/15 season is a friendly against Plymouth Argyle on 27 July.

They open their Barclays Premier League campaign with a trip to Manchester United on 16 August.
