Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Nokia Will Still Do Well In The Market In Spite Looming Layoffs

In spite all of the commotion going on in Nokia within Microsoft, we should expect that upcoming Nokia phones for 2014 will still be top notch in terms of hardware.

Ever since Nokia became a power player in the mobile industry in the early 2000s, it has managed to overcome all of the challenges that went its way.

In spite limitations in technology back then, the Finnish manufacturer was among the first to include some of the features we enjoy in smartphones such as the FM radio, music players, internet, camera, and others.

In spite doing poorly in the touchscreen category, it still managed to nab a fair share of the market, mainly due to the cheaper price tag of its phones.

When it became a part of Microsoft earlier this year, we all thought it would be a partnership made to last and one that would finally place the Windows Phone platform closer to the top two mobile operating systems today.

Unfortunately, it looks like Microsoft still wants to do everything in its own way. Earlier this month, there were reports which stated current Microsoft Satya Nadella will be laying off thousands of Microsoft employees, most of which from its Nokia department, as a change in the company's core.

In the report, the layoffs may take in effect as early as December and continue in the next couple of months.

In spite all these news, Nokia employees are enduring enough to keep developing smartphones with one of the highest, if not the highest quality of any smartphone manufacturer in terms of hardware.

Some of the upcoming Nokia phones for 2014 include the Android-powered Nokia X2, which could be its last Android device, and a Windows Phone 8.1-powered phablet to succeed the Lumia 1520 last year.
