The Hateful Eight Release Date: Quentin Tarantino Scraps Kill Bill 3 And Moves Forward With 'THE' - Announcement Made During #SDCC 2014

The Hateful Eight release date has yet to be revealed but, rest assured the once cancelled Western themed film is now a go!

Quentin Tarantino made the announcement at Comic-Con.

The Collider reported that when Tarantino was directly asked by a fan if he'll still pursue with the project, the award winning director hesitated to answer at first but eventually said, "Yeah - We're going to be doing 'The Hateful Eight.'"

Kill Bill 3 movie is being rumored to become Quentin Tarantino's next film. However, the new development with his supposed cancelled project "The Hateful Eight" it seems like it'll be impossible to push through.

In addition, Kurt Russell, had previously spilled the beans saying that Tarantino will be pursuing with the project and the Western themed film could start production early next year.

Russell revealed to My Fox Philly, while promoting The Battered Bastards of Baseball documentary saying:

"I've got a couple of projects [coming up] ... there's a Tarantino project called Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year."

Tarantino on the other hand, previously said that he is done with the two volumes of the highly successful killing spree movie, claiming that he'd accomplished his mission already.

"I think I killed Bill," he claimed. "I don't know. I could change my mind about it, but I don't know. It's looking like not."

However, hopeful fans aren't giving up as the award-winning director also mentioned that he could still change his mind about it.

Upon talking with MTV recently during the promotion of "Nymphomanic: Volume 1," lead star Uma Thurman speaks out about the possibility of a "Kill Bill 3" movie just before The Hateful Eight release date has been announced.

"Ultimately, of course, it's a Quentin Tarantino call because he would have to decide to do it," she explained. "He's so full of bean and ideas that he'll either have the lightning bolt of inspiration about it or he won't. So who knows? When the fat lady sings, we shall know."

And with the recent turn of events, Quentin Tarantino's supposed next movie project has been cancelled. Reports came in that the award-winning director will be filming "The Hateful Eight" a movie based on the 1960's film "The Magnificent Seven," which was inspired by the Japanese film Seven Samurai.

However, as stated before there is no guarantee that this film will ever make it to the big screen, true enough QT announced that he will not proceed, instead he will just publish the script.

The reason behind is that Tarantino has just learned that the screenplay for his supposed next film was leaked and that made him not just angry but depressed.

"I'm very, very depressed," the Oscar winning director told Deadline. "I finished a script, a first draft, and I didn't mean to shoot it until next winter, a year from now. I gave it to six people, and apparently it's gotten out today."

He learned that the script for his next film was leaked when his long time agent Mike Simpson began getting calls from Hollywood agents keen to pitch their clients for roles in the said film.

"I gave it to one of the producers on Django Unchained, Reggie Hudlin, and he let an agent come to his house and read it," Tarantino said.

"That's a betrayal, but not crippling because the agent didn't end up with the script. There is an ugly maliciousness to the rest of it. I gave it to three actors: Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Tim Roth. The one I know didn't do this is Tim Roth. One of the others let their agent read it, and that agent has now passed it on to everyone in Hollywood. I don't know how these fucking agents work, but I'm not making this next. I'm going to publish it, and that's it for now. I give it out to six people, and if I can't trust them to that degree, then I have no desire to make it. I'll publish it. I'm done. I'll move on to the next thing. I've got 10 more where that came from."
