Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date: Upcoming Android Phablet Specs Rumored To Get QHD Display, Retina Scanner, 16MP OIS Shooter

For many months, people have been wondering when the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 would be, especially since the Galaxy S5 unveiled with a specsheet which was only a slight upgrade of the previous version.

As far as Samsung is concerned, their schedule has remained consistent this year so far. Their Galaxy S5 was unveiled in February, while its versions the K-Zoom, Galaxy S5 Active and Galaxy S5 mini were unveiled a few months after.

And so that brings us to the supposed Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date, which would be on September 3 according to alleged insiders. Rumors claim that the Samsung phablet would be officially introduced to the market during the IFA event in Berlin, which will run from September 5 up to 10.

However, a report from Korean website ET News claims that the Android-powered Galaxy Note 4 will undergo production as early as next month, and should be made available immediately right after its launch during the first week of the succeeding month.

As far as rumors go, the Galaxy Note 4 could be the most feature-packed smartphone we will ever see this year. The Android device is tipped to come with a Retina scanner, as hinted by a teaser image posted on Twitter, the same 5.7-inch display - this time with QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, Snapdragon 805, and Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat or even Android L.

Like the Galaxy S5, the Note 4 is expected to get the fingerprint sensor and heart-rate monitor, while the camera may be upgraded to 16MP from 13MP, and boasting OIS capabilities.

Samsung will need to stuff all of the possible specs and features in this new Galaxy Note as it faces tough competition right away. Among the best in the business today include the LG G3, which is already near the Note 4 as far as display is concerned. Sony is also expected to unveil a phablet to succeed its Xperia Z1 Ultra.

And of course, Samsung's top contender in the phablet category would be the 5.5-inch version of Apple's iPhone 6.
